Tresind Studio is the culinary project by chef Himanashu Saini awarded with a Michelin Star by Michelin guide, number 4 by MENAS50best and number 57 in the ranking made by theworlds50best.

What do you eat at Tresind Studio?

Tresind Studio is an Immersive Modern Indian Dining. They’ve transformed the concept of indian food and elevating it. Your perception of what indian food is will totally transform once you set foot in this amazing restaurant.

Ambiance

When I went to this restaurant it was still located inside Radisson Blue Hotel, where the other Tresind is. In fact, the restaurant was inside Tresind and a backdoor would take you to the little Tresind Studio. Now they’ve changed locations and are set in The Palm. The OG Tresind Studio was a small restaurant and very modest, it felt very intimate and casual, nothing fancy. But the greatest joy wasn’t the ambiance or the decor, it was the amazing food we were served. I can’t wait to visit the new restaurant.

The Food

The night consisted of a 13 course menu. You better go with enough hunger because portions were big and dense, towards the end it was difficult to finish all the dishes. I know they’ve changed their menu, they’ve preserved some old dishes and they’ve done a pairing menu. Love that they’ve improved themselves, even when they were absolutely perfect before.

Whenever a dish came I was mindblown, left in awe. Extremely beautiful and elegant dishes arrived to the table non-stop during the night. So much effort and detail went into creating all those dishes that truly felt like watching an edible piece of art. They were visually an authentic show but it didn’t stop there. A burst of flavours in your mouth, rich, strong and thick dishes that left you mouthwatering.

I really loved Tresind Studio Michelin Star restaurant. It’s nice seeing a variety of cuisines other than french or more western cuisines being recognized by Michelin. This proves that any cuisine can be elevated and creatively presented, and I’m here for that.

Tromso is a realitively small city with few options for dining, but there are nice places to enjoy your time in the Artic like Fiskekompaniet (@fiskekompani), a seafood restaurant. We discovered this places thanks to a girl who worked in a Michelin Star restaurant in Oslo.

Fiskekompaniet is located near the city centre, so you can reach it by foot. A nice walk if the weather is good. The restaurant is a mix of scandic style—minimal with wooden furniture— and touch of elegance which makes it unique in this town. They have a beautiful glass wine cellar in the middle of the dining room making the place more interesting.

Fiskekompaniet seafood restaurant Tromso

As the name of the restaurant itself suggests, this is a place where fish and seafood is served. If you don’t like fish, seafood or travel with picky eaters, maybe this place isn’t for you. Products come from the region or nearby places, and they always make sure that they provide you with the freshest and highest-quality ingredients. The restaurant only offers a set menu, one for lunch and one for dinner. You can choose between 4 course menu or 6 course menu and add a cheese for a little extra. Menu changes depending on the supplies they have and the seasons, so maybe you eat different things

We went for dinner and chose the 4-course menu. Everything was fresh and exceptionally good. Great presentation of each dish and simply tasty. Dishes don’t feel repetitive as the fish flavour aren’t the same. I did’t go with much expectations but was highly impressed.

Dessert didn’t dissapoint too, a nice sorbet to end the meal and refresh yourself from so many fish dishes.

Fiskekompaniet

If you’re in Tromso and want to try a good seafood restaurant, you should visit and experience Fiskekompaniet. Cool and different from other restaurants in the city with a unique food offer. It was one of my favourite restaurants in Tromso for sure.

3FILS (@3.fils) is a contemporary Asian in Dubai and the perfect spot for lunch. Located in the beautiful Jumeriah fishing Harbour, this restaurant will impress you in every way. Awarded by @theworlds50best as the best restaurant in the MENA region, a very hard-earned and well-deserved position.

3 Fils Contemporary Asian Dubai

@3.fils is a contemporary Asian restaurant focused on a Japanese twist. I enjoy when fusion restaurants are done well, without anything crazy, just the necessary touches to combine and make the perfect dishes.

Apart for the astonishing and relaxing environment of the fishing Harbour, 3 fils is a place to have good food without the formalities you would expect from this kind of restaurants. And I love restaurants like that, being able to be casual where food is highly valued and not in the back seat. You feel like eating in a picnic at the park but better, very chill vibes with delicious food.

And talking about food… was there anything I didn’t like? I don’t think so. Fresh and high-quality ingredients are delivered to the table with success. Tasty and perfectly combined flavours.

Portions are small but I don’t complain about that as I get to try more food (oops). When I think of 3fils I think of their salmon nigiri which was amazing and their burgers—one of the best burgers in Dubai. But everything lived up to my expectations.

The dessert was good but to me too much on the sweeter side. At the same time, I enjoyed the little show with the iced chocolate, it was fun watching.

Service was excellent, the waiters were very approachable and gave great recommendations.

If you visit Dubai and would love to try a good contemporary Asian restaurant then 3FILS is the place to go.

Trattoria Popolare (@trattoriapopolare) was a lovely Italian restaurant located in the old director’s quarters of Schous brewery in Oslo.

Trattoria Popolare Oslo

A very warm and casual restaurant that would fulfil our cravings for some Mediterranean cuisine. For starters, a nice charcuterie platter with salami, prosciutto, olives—how i missed olives at this point— and different kinds cheese with some crispy sourdough bread. High-quality and fresh cold cuts.

Of course, pasta would be the king of the main course. We ordered tagliatelle with ragu and pasta of the day, made with garlic, coriander, olive oil and chili pepper. Simple yet delicious.

For desserts, we ordered some tiramisu and cioccolato and they lived up to the expectations.

Service was attentive and quite fast, considering restaurant service in Oslo is a bit on the slow side.

If you want to take some rest from Norwegian food, Trattoria Popolare is the perfect place to stop by and have some Italian food.

Casa Benigna (@casabenigna) is a restaurant in Madrid specialized in dry rice from Valencia and propably has the best paella in the city.

To make this paella, they use a very interesting utensil made of copper that the chef himself, Norberto, patented and named “Patella”.

Ambience

Ambience was magnificent and made you feel as if you were by the mediterranean. The elaborate decoration, the calm spanish guitar as the background music, patellas hang in the wall. I enjoyed the personal touch they gave to the restaurant.

Food

We start with some in house appeteizzer: a very delicious salmojero. The consistency was perfect, not too greasy and not dense. A great start to what was coming.

Casa Benigna

For starters, we ordered smoked salmon with some potatoes and confit duck with augbergine. I loved how the chef put norwegian touches into the entrees as he spent some time working and learning there. Everything was amazingly flavourful and tender. Indeed, one of my favourite dishes.

For the rice, we ordeded two different tkinds as we wanted to try many dishes as possible—as much our stomachs could fit. We ordered “arroz a banda” which is the most popular kind of paella outside Spain. It is maid of calamari and prawns already mixed into the rice,—this means that you won’t have to peel the prawns— very simple yet delicious.

We wanted to try something more elaborate and not common, so we ordered “Rice with Iberian pork ribs”. The rice is made for 40 hours and cooked with the ribs. Honestly, both were out of this world. Rice and product quality were incredible.

If I were to choose one, I would choose the iberian pork rice because it was different a different approach, but both of them were exquisite.

Desserts & Wine Menu

This time we didn’t manage to try any desserts as we were so full at this point. But i’ve tried them before and I can say that they’re worth it. Wine menu is rather short. I’m not a wine person but a champagne kind of person. They have a small but nice selection of great champagnes.

Service

Service couldn’t be better, since you arrive to the restaurant they take good care of you, very welcoming. They explain every dish and the reason why they made it the way they made it.

If you want to try a good paella—or patella as they call it— you shouldn’t skip this place in Madrid. There are lots of paella restaurants in Spain and sometimes it’s difficult for the outsider to distinguish a high-quality paella. Personally, I hate when paellas are overfilled with ingredients, it should be a thin but tasteful layer. Casa Benigna is the place to go for sure if you want to try the best paella in Madrid.

Imagine eating inside a crypt? Well, not exactly but that’s what the red brick wall reminded me while dining in Istanbul at Aheste (@ahestepera) .

Aheste

If this restaurant isn’t in your list, I don’t know what you are waiting for. Located in the lively neighbourhood of Beyoğlu. @stabrizi is the master behind the kitchen that makes all the delicious food. Recently was awarded by the Michelin Guide with the Bib Gourmand category.

A very casual and elegant setting at the same time. The interior design of Aheste amazed me, the tiled floor, the muted red bricks wall gave me a nice ambiance.

Contemporary cuisine with Turkish, Ottoman and Middle Eastern influences. Don’t you love when restaurants offer both a tasting menu and a la carte menu? Well, this is the case with Aheste. And menu version for vegetarians is available.

Everything I ate here was fantastic and very tasty. We chose a la carte men and my personal favourites were the lamb shoulder, the grilled octopus and desserts.

And talking about desserts… of course, I had to order both and I enjoyed them very much. They weren’t super sweet so I liked that a lot. Totally worth it.

Service was on point, super kind and friendly and food arrived quickly to the table.

Sühring (@restaurant_suhring) is a two Michelin Star restaurant in Bangkok by german twins Thomas and Mathias

Sühring Bangkok

The restaurant is located in a traditional but renovated Thai home with a minimalist, cosy and elegant vibe. They have different dinning rooms distributed accross the two floors of the building. The main dining room, the glass house located in the garden and a private dinning room upstairs.

Sühring Bangkok

There is not a la carte menu available, only set menu that changes seasonally with high-quility ingredients and a strong presence of meats. On this occasion, the signature dish was the seven day cured and hay-smoked duck. Duck meat was on point: crispy skin and the meat was tender and juicy. A-MA-ZING! The fish was the only dish I didn’t like as much.

There is a good selection of wines, cocktails, mocktails and juices. As I don’t usually drink alcohol I asked them for a cocktail without alcohol. Desserts and Petit Fours were really good, very refreshing to end the night.

Service was excellent and times between dishes were great.

Sühring Michelin Star restaurant is a must if you are in Bangkok!

There are lots of places for breakfast in Dubai, but none like 11 Woodfire (@11woodfire), recently awarded with one michelin star. Mastermind Chef Akmalanuar is the one who brought to life this amazing restaurant.

Only during weekends you’ll be able to indulge here. A small but complete breakfast menu. I warn you, you’ll leave the restaurant rolling like a stone as I found breakfast to be VERY fullfilling.

Avocado on toast was phenomenal. That freshly-baked bread and crispy veal beacon was a dream. Beef cheeks benedict was pure delight for your mouth, very juicy and tender. Pain au chocolat freshly from the oven minutes before eating eat was perfect, crunchy and with the right sweetness. Smoothie was delicious.

Service was fantastic, super quick and mindful. Shout out to the girl in the front desk who was pure happiness, her good mood is very contagious.

Totally recommended! Don’t miss 11 Woodfire for a unique breakfast at a Michelin Star.

Located at the very heart of Madrid, Roostiq stands out for its wood-fired oven pizzas and charcoal grilled meats.

A stylish, elegant and relaxed restaurant that have an open kitchen, a dining area and a bar area.

One of my favourite things about this restaurant is that you can eat a really good pizza or a high quality steak. Maybe order both of them as I do, why not? This is my place to go whenever I fly to Madrid.

Generally, I try to avoid deep-fried food but these famous spanish torreznos were quite good: crispy and bursting with flavour belly pork. They are worth a try.The anchovies where amazing, I loved them, top quality and taste. Roostiq pizzas were very tasty. It is a small pizza but it won’t dissapoint you.Maybe the weakest point was the steak. Quality was really good but it arrived to the table a bit cold. This could be because of the thickness of the steak and not letting it sit long enough at room temperature. Cheesecake was amazing but I preferred it without the sides.

Hoseki is one of the most famous omakase restaurant in the city and it is located at the luxurious Bvlgari resort. Masahiro Sugiyama offers an unbeatable culinary experience. With only 9 seats, making a reservation can be difficult but not impossible. Recently, Hoseki Dubai was awarded with a well-deserved Michelin Star, I’m so happy about it.

In case you don’t know, omakase is the Japanese term that means leaving all the meal choices to the chef, in other words, entrust. That means that you won’t be able to choose which dishes to eat or not. If you’ve never been to an Omakase, I would suggest going with an opend mind and only if you are willing to try everything. Otherwise, you won’t like the experiece. Omakase restaurants are mostly in a seated bar where you watch the chef prepare your meal— a pleasant eye experience as it is very soothing and enigmatic watching how the chef make your food.
